When you give an LLM instructions like âdonât make stuff upâ the best youâre going to get is that the âmake stuff upâ machine will make stuff up that sounds a bit less like itâs making stuff up.
Getting people to treat them like they can actually think or understand instructions is all part of the con.

@merdely I tend to say "jif" (which is how I understand the creator of the .GIF file-format pronounces it) and "rejex". It's mostly a mutual harassing at the shared ambiguity.
That said, while "gr"aphics is always a hard-G "guh" sound, "gi" in GIF can be pronounced hard (as "gift") or soft ("giraffe") and the "ge" in "regex" can be pronounced hard like "get" or soft like "gem".
