A dirigerla l'attrice e regista Hafsia Herzi.

"The smallest," in Fatima's life, a Muslim and lesbian.

Rome, March 26 (askanews) – “The Little One,” the film in competition at the Bif&st and from April 23 in Italian cinemas, tells the story of a French girl of Algerian origins, deeply religious, accepting her homosexuality. Playing Fatima, debutant Nadia Melliti won the Golden Palm Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Hafsia Herzi, the actress and director, directed her.

Fatima, seventeen years old, is the youngest of three sisters in a Muslim family. Raised in a loving family and traditions, she confronts the delicate balance between whispered prayers and forbidden dreams. The actress explained: "This girl does a ‘coming in’ before a ‘coming out,’ in the sense that she must first of all accept her identity because she somehow has internalized homophobia. The film is an adaptation of an autobiographical novel by Fatima Daas, who has repeatedly said that it was a duty for her to write this book because when she was young she was represented in no way. And the director wanted to give a voice to this community.”

On her journey, Fatima meets another Paris, discovers a world previously unknown, meets love, experiences herself in a new guise. “I love everything that disturbs me and this topic is a taboo, especially in France. The character is complex, but I think that somehow ‘disturbing’ is necessary to wake people’s consciences, to make them evolve.”

Roma, 26 mar. (askanews) -

You know that thing where kids hear something inappropriate but they think is funny (or know is supposed to be funny but they don't get why) and then they repeat it? All it takes is one kid to hear a phrase like "give me one margarita and I'll open my legs" and then the next thing you know - all the kids are saying it, having no idea what it means, just that it's supposed to be funny.

Well. I don't even know where she heard this one and it's even worse.

#thelittleone keeps singing "Big Green Tractor" by Jason Aldean.

#kidsthesedays

But in better news, #thelittleone just started playing #StardewValley for the first time and I am stupidly excited to watch her go on this journey. She keeps pestering me when I can help her again.

In less annoyed news, this is #thelittleone 's idea of a shopping list.

I really want to know where the "Statue of giraffe" came from.

#shopping #retailtherapy

Listening to #thelittleone and he cousin tell knock knock jokes back and forth.

"Ok ok my turn! Who's there?"
"What?"
"WHO'S THERE?"
"That's not how it goes!"
"Oh.... knock knock"
"Who's there?"
"Who's there?"
"NO"

Children are weird

"My mom let's me say the 'c' word."

Um. Does she?

Oh. Oh. You mean "crap". That 'c' word. Ok

Things #thelittleone says.

Good morning #Cupofteasocial. I got so busy doing nothing yesterday that I forgot to post my #mario #mug while playing #MarioKart with #thelittleone. She just started playing so she has almost 30 years of practice to catch up to, but no doubt she'll get there!

Yesterday's drink was the same as today. Being real lazy and using a Red Velvet Latte mix.
