There's a book, #TheHumaneInterface by #JefRaskin, where he talks about using two adjectives and a noun. It works in a pinch, with spaces or special characters in between it's hard to to get at least 18-20 characters without even trying, and phrases will stick in your head like glue.

I recommend looking around the room and picking something random and ridiculous as a baseline. Don't even use it, just see if you can recall it a week or two later.
