#TheFablemans ist einer dieser Filme, über den ich recht müde/genervt sagen würde "Nein - SO toll ist das nicht. Bisschen langweilig, sentimental, plakativ"... falls er ein Hit wäre und sonst überall stünde: "ein Must-See!"

weil er aber kein Hit war, sag ich doch nochmal gern: "Ach, war schon lieb. Dawson aus #DawsonsCreek würde ihn voll mögen. 😅 "

Steven Spielbergs Ich-Figur in #TheFablemans hat als Teenager den selben Konflikt mit seiner Mutter wie Dawson in Staffel 1 von #DawsonsCreek - und weil (!) in "The Fablemans" weniger passiert und Spielberg sich Zeit lässt, wirkt der Konflikt zehnmal intensiver/besser.

Finally watched #TheFablemans last night. #MichelleWilliams was outstanding. I've enjoyed watching her career evolve and grow.
Absolutely loved the final scene with #DavidLynch portraying Hollywood director John Ford. I watched that scene 4 times.

#TheFablemans oli minusta oikein mukava elokuva. Taattua laatua ja minusta hyvin todenoloinen ja inhimillinen kuvaus elämästä. Ei ehkä riittävän raflaava Oscar-voittajaksi, mutta katsomisen arvoinen elokuva elokuvan taiasta.

Really enjoyed watching #Spielberg 's #TheFablemans last night. Very interesting window into the origin story of a creative genius, the persistence and the obsession that he had from such a young age. And also fun to find the source inspiration for so many iconic scenes from his movies. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Fablemans directed by Steven Spielberg; starring Gabriel LaBelle, Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen; written by Tony Kushner and Steven Spielberg

A teenager discovers his passion for filmmaking as his family falls apart.
Very personal movie for Spielberg who blends a love letter to his craft with a touching family portrait.
Not particularly narrative, bound more by its theme than its plot. But every sequence has its moment of grace.

Rating: B+

Just watched “The Fablemans.” We liked it, but in an era when authenticity is prized and representation is seen as all-important, why is it okay always to cast non-Jews as lead Jewish characters? In Jewish stories? Casting actors in Jewface. It’s standard practice, and it sucks.
