Twin Peaks: Episode 6 > Andy and Lucy have a story that hasn't been told yet. The young private investigators are investigating. Cooper doesn't like birds. Who cares about continuity editing anymore? Cooper has a suitcase full of fake beards. When it rains, something dramatic happens. It's everyone against everyone else. Things are getting really tense. My rating: 🍰🍰🍰🍰

They had people watch parts of Rabbits to create existential discomfort ("meaning-threat condition") and then measured how fascist they got in response. And they found that Tylenol blunts this reaction.

"In both studies, participants in the meaning-threat condition who had taken a placebo showed typical compensatory affirmations by becoming more punitive toward lawbreakers, whereas those who had taken acetaminophen, and those in the control conditions, did not."

No wonder Trump hates Tylenol and I love unions, art, and community-building!

Of the many things I'm enjoying about introducing Twin Peaks to my teenage kid is the way she charges into the room the instant she hears the opening theme start, and then sings along wordlessly in a mock-choral style. This is accompanied by dramatically extending her arms heavenward, as if she were performing an aria before a royal audience. Thespian kids for the win.

Twin Peaks: Episode 5 > Wait, Audrey is 18 years old?! I love that her character is one of the few (if any) that has a kind of leitmotif. Do I hear a xylophone? There's a great scene for the Log Lady, and a lot of character development is going on, the relationships and connections are becoming more and more complex. I'll have to make a chart soon. My rating: 🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰
