Added to my #audiobook feed, thanks! Not my usual genre but it's good to mix things up every now and then. I keep recalling #TheBookEaters, which was pretty fascinating, in a horrific way.
@FrostPoem
I really don't know UK accents at all but #TheSaltPath was narrated by the author, who I believe is Welsh. For another regional accent, #TheBookEaters is specifically narrated by a northerner, at the author's request.

Just finished #TheBookEaters by Sunyi Dean. Very much not my typical genre but it's extremely well-written.
Also audio reading #Dandelion by Jamie Chai Yun Liew and print-reading TheEmbroideredBook by Kate Heartfield
I forgot to alert #Bookstodon about #TheBookEaters by Sunyi Dean (@Blind_Nycteris on the bird site). It's WOW!! I made it last as long as I could considering I couldn't put it down! It's a blend of #FairyTale, #horror, and #fantasy by an #ActuallyAutistic author.

It's a can't-put-it-down blend of #FairyTale, #horror, and #fantasy by an #ActuallyAutistic author.
What if there were people who literally lived off books (and sometimes minds)...who had a kind of Handmaid's tale setup to keep producing offspring...and then one woman who was raised on fairy tales decides to break free and rescue those she loves?
Trying to decide whether the formatting of the ebook of The Book Eaters is weird or if someone is eating my book! It keeps resetting from chapter header back to index! (I suspect an embedded link in the chapter graphic making it hard not to hit it instead of page advance) #reading #ebooks #TheBookEaters
Time to start on something new. Looking forward to this. I've heard good things.

'THE BOOK EATERS is a thoughtful meditation on perception and attention...All of these sensory details made me think differently about my own senses and how I use them to pay attention—or not.'

Listening to Learn How to Pay Attention

In his newest book, AN IMMENSE WORLD, science writer Ed Yong delves joyfully into the fascinating world of animal senses. He explores scent, touch, smell, hearing, and sight, as well as more unfamiliar sensory realms, such as electric and magnetic fields. Yong is undoubtedly one of the best science writers working today, and so much of what makes his work so good is apparent in his narration, which positively overflows with wonder and curiosity.
