Explore links on a web page without losing sight of the original tab.

With the Follower Tab feature in Vivaldi, you can quickly preview everything you want and need to know about pages linked on the site you’re browsing. When you create a follower tab, it will open in a tiled tab next to the source tab and any other link you click in the source tab will replace the page in the follower tab.

To open the first link as a follower tab:

Right-click on a link on a web page.

Hover over the Open Link in option to open the sub-menu.

Select Open Link as Tiled Follower Tab.

To open other links in the Follower Tab, simply click on a link on the web page as if you wanted to open it in the active tab.

Use drag and drop to reorder Tiled Tabs.

Viewing multiple tabs side by side in the same Vivaldi browser window can significantly boost your productivity. By default, tiles follow the order of the tabs on your Tab Bar, but if that doesn’t work well, you can easily rearrange them.

To reorder Tiled Tabs:

Click on a tiled tab’s title bar in the tiled view and start dragging.

Drag it to the middle of another tiled tab.

When you see “Move tile here”, release the mouse button.

リンクを…で開く > リンクをタイルで開く を選択する

既にタイル表示したタブで同じように実行すると、新しいタブもその横に並べてタイル表示されます。

In a tiled view, you’ll have two or more tabs displayed simultaneously, allowing you to conveniently browse and compare content on multiple web pages at once. There are many ways to tile tabs, but if you’re about to open a link from a web page that you will be tiling with the active tab, follow the instructions below to cut this multi-step action down to just one step.

To create a tiled view from a link:

Right-click on a link on the web page.

Select Open Link In > Open Link as Tiled Tab.

When you do the same on an already tiled tab, the new tab will be added to the tiled view.

2 つのウェブページのコンテンツを表示したり、比較したりしたい場合、Vivaldi の タブタイリング 機能を利用すると便利です。でも、その他にも Vivaldi に備わっているちょっとしたトリックを使うと、タブのタイル表示をもっと簡単に行えます。

現在のタブと新しいタブをタイル表示するには：

設定 > クィックコマンド > コマンドチェイン に移動する

「コマンドチェインを追加」をクリックする

新しいチェインに名前を付けて、以下のコマンドを追加する：

• コマンドパラメータとして {link_url} で新しいタブでリンクを開く
• 縦にタイル/横にタイル

設定 > 外観 > メニュー > メニューのカスタマイズ に移動する

ウェブページ > リンク を選択する

コマンドのリスト > コマンドチェイン から、コンテンツのコラムに作成した新しいチェインをドラッグする

その後は、現在のタブと新しいタブをタイル表示したい時は、ウェブページのリンクを右クリックして独自の名前を付けたコマンドチェインのオプションを選択してください。

Automatically tile a new tab opened from a link on a web page with the current tab.

Whenever you need to view or compare the contents of two web pages, using the Tab Tiling feature in Vivaldi makes it very easy. But there are little tricks in Vivaldi that help to make tiling tabs even easier.

To tile a new tab with the current tab:

Go to Settings > Quick Commands > Command Chains.

Click on “Add Command Chain”.

Give the new chain a name and add the following commands:

• “Open Link in New Tab” with {link_url} as the Command Parameter.
• “Tile Vertically/Horizontally”.

Go to Settings > Appearance > Menu > Menu Customization.

Select Web Page > Link menu as the one you’re going to edit.

From the Commands list > Command Chains, drag the new chain you created to the Content column.

Then whenever you want to tile the new tab with the current tab, right-click on the link on the web page and select the option with your command chain’s name.

Reorder tiled tabs for a more comfortable view.

In Vivaldi there’s no need to jump back and forth between tabs – Tab Tiling allows you to view several tabs at the same time in a split-screen view. Depending on your tab order and the layout of the web pages, the grid view might not work out of the box, so it’s necessary to adjust the view by resizing the tiles (see Tip #47) and by reordering the tabs in the tiled view.

To reorder tiled tabs:

Click on a tab you want to move and hold down the mouse button.

Drag the tab to a different location on the Tab Bar.

Repeat with the other tiled tabs until all tiled tabs are where you want them.
