Гендиректор TIOBE Пол Янсен пояснює зміни тим, що кілька більш спеціалізованих або предметно-орієнтованих мов поступово завойовують позиції за рахунок Python. У першу чергу це стосується #R та #Perl.

TIOBE Software CEO Paul Jansen shares the numbers for November 2025 in its programming popularity index. It seems like C# is almost caught up with Java with a less than 1% difference between the fourth and fifth positions. Python continues to stand in a very comfortable first place.

I graphed the number of years since each of the tiobe programming language top 25 current versions were created and found only ANSI Common Lisp (and Visual Basic 1998) aren't babies. I look at @nytpu 's article about lisp as a fulcrum for understanding what a current programming language having a long history is like. There are no examples outside of LISP.
