#Transport for #London consultation report on Carshalton High Street proposes replacing single red line restrictions with double red lines between The Square and Park Lane to improve bus reliability, while retaining existing parking and loading bays. The consultation ran from 4 August to 29 September 2025 and received 289 responses, including stakeholder and campaign submissions. Of 202 survey responses, 40% expected improvements to bus services and 52% expected no impact. Comments highlighted road layout constraints, including narrow sections near Carshalton Ponds and junctions at North Street and West Street, as key causes of delay rather than parking. Concerns were raised about limited benefits from extended restrictions and possible impacts on local businesses. #TfL will proceed, with minor bay adjustments at The Square, retention of over 20 nearby bays, and the scheme forming part of wider A232 corridor improvements due in autumn.

New Pride flag from r/london: #pride #tfl #London

β¦΅πŸ›‘οΈπŸš #Transport for #London (TfL) has published the second phase of its Bus Safety Standard, setting new requirements for #buses entering service up to 2033. Developed with manufacturers, operators and safety experts, the standard aims to reduce injuries and prevent collisions through improved vehicle design and new technology.

Measures include better lighting, clearer safety information, enhanced accessibility features and tip seats from 2030 to help reduce slips, trips and falls. New systems will help prevent buses moving off when pedestrians or cyclists are directly ahead, while upgraded emergency braking and acceleration controls will support safer driving.

The standard also introduces stronger measures to tackle driver fatigue and distraction, alongside a redesigned cab to improve driver comfort and safety. #TfL said earlier safety standards helped reduce casualties and influenced regulations in the #UK and overseas.

London tube strike to go ahead after 11th-hour talks fail to find resolution

About half of drivers will take action on Tuesday as RMT blames TfL’s β€˜refusal to engage meaningfully’

The Guardian

#Transport for #London held a public consultation (27 Nov 2025–22 Jan 2026) on Barnham Drive Missing Link in #Thamesmead, as set out in the consultation report, proposing a 400m bus, cycle and pedestrian route to improve East-West connectivity, reduce indirect journeys and support housing delivery ahead of the Docklands Light Railway extension.

150 responses were received, incl 60 from an organised campaign and six stakeholders. Around 84% said it would improve the area, many expecting more walking and bus use.

Concerns included parking near schools, preventing private vehicle access, enforcement (cameras, barriers), and environmental impacts (green space, biodiversity, construction disruption, privacy, lighting).

#TfL said the scheme is broadly beneficial but has been paused while design details are finalised with partners and aligned with wider infrastructure plans including the Docklands Light Railway extension.

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
#TfL has refused to disclose 2014 New Tube for London concept images submitted by unsuccessful bidders Alstom and a Hitachi/Bombardier joint venture. TfL stated that releasing the designs is exempt under section 43(2) of the Freedom of Information Act, as disclosure could prejudice the commercial interests of those companies in future competitive tenders. The public body determined that protecting commercial confidentiality to secure the best value for public money outweighed the general public interest in transparency. Addressing enquiries regarding why Siemens was selected despite current teething issues, TfL confirmed the contract was awarded because Siemens submitted the most economically advantageous tender. The evaluation followed a strict four-stage process assessing mandatory technical requirements, deliverability, and whole-life costs for the Piccadilly, Bakerloo, Central, and Waterloo & City lines.

Essential platform renewal and extension works will take place at Limehouse station between June and November.

During the first phase, from Monday 22 June to Monday 6 July, the Essex-bound platform (Platform 2) will be closed. Passengers travelling from #London to #Essex cannot exit, enter, or interchange with the DLR at Limehouse. Instead, they should take a London-bound service to Fenchurch Street for onward c2c trains, or use #TfL services to connect at West Ham. DLR passengers should interchange at West Ham, Tower Gateway, or Bank, though additional charges may apply. Passengers requiring assistance should book in advance.

The project, delivered by c2c and Aureos, involves replacing timber decking with durable Glass Reinforced Plastic composite decking, upgrading lighting, and extending Platform 1 by 28 metres to increase capacity. c2c has apologised for the disruption and advised passengers to plan ahead.
