Red, blue and yellow: Dafodills outside a red sandstone tenement on Crow Road in the Broomhill area of Glasgow in today's spring sunshine.

Charles Wilson's Classical style tenement on the corner of Sauchiehall Street and Kelvingrove Street in the west of Glasgow. Originally known as Wellesley Place, it was built in 1853. At this time, it marked the western end of Sauchiehall Steet, and it was the first building on the section which now runs from here to the junction with Argyle Street outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

Love the curved corners on this tenement on Harvey Street on the Southside of Glasgow. I have passed it many times, but didn't really notice quite how well-proportioned it was until yesterday.

Adam and Short's imposing 1897 tenement building on Saltoun Street in the West End of Glasgow. If this looks familiar, it may well be as this is the block of tenements featured in Avril Paton's rather wonderful Windows in the West painting from 1993.

I love these Heath Robinsonesque extensions you occasionally see bolted to an upper floor of the rear facade of Glasgow buildings. You can just imagine the conversation with the builder:

'And we'll knock through this wall to give you more space in the bathroom.'
'But that's the outside wall ...'
'So?'
'This is a 2nd floor flat ...'
'Nae bother!'

Love these dafodills catching today's morning sun on a tenement window box at Partick Cross in Glasgow.

Bridgeton Cross Mansions in the East End of Glasgow. Built in 1896 from a design by John Cunningham, they always make me think of a mighty sandstone ship sailing up Dalmarnock Road.
