The other amazing Seattle mutual aid organization to support is "Stop The Sweeps Seattle".

Funds donated here help with city wide homeless sweep response. They support homeless Seattle residents in so many ways and have been a critical group to call when parks and cops are abusing the homeless throughout the broader Seattle region.

Once again waking up to news that the Black Lives Memorial Garden is being harassed by police.

This morning gardeners report the police stormed in to take down a tarp which has been keeping people dry for weeks. They also are trying to take a portable fireplace which has allowed the homeless to stay warm while keeping fires safely contained.

This unfortunately turned into a situation where community showed up to support right in time for the cops to throw away nearly all of this young woman's belongings.

She was a 19yo Black girl, being swept for the 2nd time.

No shelter was offered before her family heirlooms and basic shelter were thrown away.

Despite her being able to see and identify her belongings the cops would NOT allow her or us to retrieve all of her belongings.
