This afternoon I'm at the Houses Not Handcuffs rally in Seattle.
This morning the US supreme court heard oral arguments in the Grants Pass v Johnson case. This case deals with the rights of homeless people and considers whether the act of sleeping outside can be criminalized.
Today at 1pm, the King County Board of Health is having their first meeting of the new year. Last November they resolved to "study" making a public statement against sweeps and for greatly increased shelter/services.
WHEEL and SHARE will be at King County Council chambers to speak in person and urge them to action. They would greatly appreciate another big turnout on zoom, like last September!
