Why is #2 any different than say the #Tandem t:slim app, or #SugarMate, or any of the others? It's not, really - at least not from a graphical perspective.

But, now I can access the raw numbers in my browser, export them, and (theoretically) do some #dataanalysis to try and optimize my basal rates, insulin/carb ratios, correction factors, etc. I have been wanting to do this for YEARS but GD Tandem and Dexcom did NOT want to let me into their walled garden.

Well, I'm in, bitches.

I'm really disappointed in how bad Sugarmate has gotten. Before I switched over to Shuggah for the specific updates that made it so much better, Sugarmate was my favorite diabetes management app.

Late last year, it got a pretty major facelift. And it's a bad one.

The bad UI is one thing, though. The really bad thing is the insights are just....broken. It's to the point that Sugarmate is really kinda unusable, now, and I wonder if this is intentional from Tandem (they bought Sugarmate some years ago).

I will no longer be recommending Sugarmate to anyone, at this point.

Shuggah has its issues, but it's continuing to improve quite a lot.

So… #Sugarmate just stopped working a couple days ago - logged me out and I can’t log in on the app or the website. I checked the App Store and it’s not listed anymore… WTF 🤔

I prefer(red) that app because it is (was?) the only one of the 3 I use(d) (Dexcom, t:connect) that actually shows a +/- rate, which SHOULD be standard.

@VTDARKSIM I use #SweetDreams instead of #Sugarmate for BG monitoring. It's not free, but in my case well worth it: It supports widgets, live activity, dynamic island, app badges and has an AppleWatch app that actually works (as opposed to #Dexcom Follow) https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sweet-dreams-sugar-tracker/id1644428422

#Apple #iOS18 also did away with the old school widgets, so now I can’t quickly see my #SugarMate blood glucose trends, weather with #WeatherUnderground, or toggle my #ProtonVPN (cc: @protonprivacy).

I just reset my network settings in the hope that will stop the iOS from continually trying to melt my phone.

@cortig FWIW I reached out to #Sugarmate about this, since they had the best tool suite IMO and were owned by the company #Tandem that has the only missing piece. This was their answer 🙄

@salakala that one’s the #Tandem t:connect app. I use it for insight into my #insulin bc it is tied to my pump & #CGM. But, since #diabetes is bullshit, I also use 2 others.

The #Dexcom #G7 app doesn’t log insulin automatically but is the first stop from my CGM, so I look at it when time is critical & I can’t rely on timely updates to the others.

But, neither gives you the +/- on your BG, which is important when you’ve got #hypobrain, so I also use #Sugarmate.

So stupid 🙄
