I’m concerned the idiotic school board thinks they can pull a fast one because the union ended the #strike before the board ratified the agreement. After a #strike lasting over 3 weeks, the staff of #SheridanCO’s school district finally got the agreement from the district admin that they were holding out for. The #union voted to accept it on Friday, but the school board stubbornly refused to ratify it before their meeting this coming Tuesday.

The staff of #SSD2 have been on strike for 7 DAYS and the superintendent and school board in this town have barely even acknowledged that there are fewer than 25% of students in class. They’re ignoring the community they’re elected and paid to serve. These administrators are batshit insane and need to be recalled NOW.

The administration of #SSD2 is unbelievably bad. #SheridanCO is being lead by a bunch of power-hungry do-nothings that clearly like their titles more than actually serving their community. The #teachers and educators and support staff are all fighting for better schools and the admin are fighting for total control and nothing less. Gianni Thompson needs to go but so do the rest of the school board.

Keep in mind this is in Colorado, home to a mind-numbing number of mass shootings, and Alice Terry Elementary is only a 10 minute drive from Columbine High School.

In the event of a lockdown, educators were instructed to notify each other via radios, and in case anyone didn’t have a radio they were told to have a “runner” who would run down the halls yelling that there was a lockdown. The entirety of #SheridanCO high school’s student body walked out today to support the teachers because their #union has not been “recognized” by the district since last summer.

EDIT: I’ve been looking for a news outlet that has covered it but I haven’t seen one yet. Sheridan is small but I’m sure #Denver 7 News will cover it
