Entry door of the "El Cortez" apartment building in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood featuring paired engaged columns with ornate capitals, a name-bearing entablature, and a richly detailed semicircular tympanum flanked by twisted shafts. Two guardian lions complete the exuberant composition, which has Spanish Baroque/Spanish Revival overtones and is typical of the eclectic revivalist architecture used throughout central Denver in early 20th century walk-up apartment buildings.

I pass this building frequently on walks through the neighborhood and it always catches my eye.
