#20252025Challenge
Sometimes our printer is slow and takes absolutely ages, so if we're printing something important and time sensitive, like tickets, we have to do it well in advance.

The 2025 20-25 Challenge.

This year let’s get better at something by finding a little practice time most days, in my case drawing. - Do your activity for at least 25 minutes, at least 25 days per month.
- Use the hashtag #20252025Challenge on social media etc to track your progress
- Also use the hashtag to cheer on others.

That’s about it!

Have fun with your activities, whatever they may be!

Drawing, programming, dancing, cooking, make up, reading, languages, gardening, mastering high fives, sewing, astrophysics, vcr clock setting ...

Why Printing Still Matters and How It Separates Authors From Image-Makers

In today’s digital environment and on social media, the topic of printing is rarely discussed. Yet printing your own work is a challenge that can change not only how you process images but how you see them. Most images now appear on screens and vanish a moment later. Printing is no longer required, but it still carries a meaning that the screen cannot hold. Screens exaggerate. They make images appear brighter and higher in contrast, and that illusion quietly shapes how we edit.

Why Photography’s Future Is Physical in the Age of Video

When video became the main way to capture attention, the environment for photography began to disappear. To survive, it must once again become an object, not content. The days when photography defined visual culture are coming to an end. It replaced drawing, transformed painting, and gave the world a new way of seeing itself. But today its role is rapidly shrinking. To me, the clearest sign is the growing presence of video works in contemporary art museums. Over the past decade, video has steadily entered exhibition spaces, and visitors have begun to slow down.

Can one work of art be in multiple museums? Yes.

The 1919 woodcut print (below), generically titled Children Standing Around Christmas Tree, is in the collections of both the Victoria and Albert and Museum of Fine Art Houston.

Fourteen-year-old Steffi Krauss carved this image in wood, then inked and printed it on paper to make prints of about 40×30 centimeters (about 16×12 inches).

Steffi was a student in Franz Cizek's in 1914, at a time when children's art education was being transformed at the Vienna's Kunstgewerbeschule, or School of Arts & Crafts.

The print depicts children by a candle-lit Christmas tree. Below it is a crèche with Mary's and Joseph's garments adorned by crucifixes. One child holds one of two harlequin dolls.

The print combines multiple seasonal ideas, including the celebration of light in winter, Christianity, childhood joy and wonder, and—perhaps—symbols of mockery or doubt.
