One of the many joys of using #iNaturalist is when you are trying to drill down the taxa on something unfamiliar and you throw your taxonomic net wide enough that you see observations on other continents.

I love knowing that today someone in Italy and in France, just like my co-protagonist and me in Oregon, stopped to look at a shining slender fly and wonder.
