AGI - La stagione del baseball giovanile a New York è entrata nel pieno. E Central Park, il parco metropolitano più famoso al mondo, è il centro di tutto.
Qui nel fine settimana si sfidano le squadre di bambini iscritte alle varie leghe. Le aree sono pubbliche e gratuite, gli spazi vengono prenotati dalle leghe e tutto si svolge in modo autonomo, con centinaia di famiglie che si sistemano sull’erba e seguono le partite.
Il confronto con l’Italia
Immaginate se questo fosse possibile in Italia, dove ogni attività sportiva è ormai a pagamento.
Sport accessibile a tutti
New York resta una città molto costosa, ma per fare sport è tra le più accessibili al mondo: non solo per il baseball, ma per il calcio, il basket e il volley.
Il parco come campo
Si prenota lo spazio, si va e ci si sfida. Vinca il migliore, e non quello che ha più soldi o l’impianto migliore. Il parco è il loro campo. Ed è a disposizione di tutti.

Here over the weekend, teams of children registered in various leagues are competing. The areas are public and free, spaces are booked by the leagues, and everything is carried out independently, with hundreds of families setting up on the grass and watching the games.

Imagine if this were possible in Italy, where every sporting activity is now paid.
Sports Accessible to All
New York remains a very expensive city, but for playing sports it is among the most accessible in the world: not just for baseball, but for soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
The Park as a Field
Space is booked, you go and you challenge. The best wins, not the one with the most money or the best facility. The park is their field. And it is available to everyone.
