When people talk about "Stockholm Syndrom" (which isn't a thing), what they are really talking about is cognitive dissonance. It is the converse of sour grapes: instead of you thinking something is bad because you initially thought it was good but you can't get it, the converse is that you start thinking something is good, because you initially thought it was bad, but you can't avoid it.

When people say something like "this requires impossible strength" or "tremendous skill", what that really means is "this requires more strength or skill than I possess at the moment and I can not comprehend how to attain it because it is not the immediate next step on my journey".

No way to prevent it, no need for personal engagement. You can be passive and maybe MAYBE you can survive.

But about the climate change? You have a part in it? Nah. You can prevent it? Boring, that’s not true end of the world! Billionaires are running it? No way, they are cool and I want to be rich one day!

What’s the conclusion? I do not know, but I guess that, we are cooked.

Well, I wondered „why people lost their mind about 2012 end of the world, but they will do anything to prove climate change isn’t real”.

So, I got to a conclusion, a very easy one, that it was easy for them.

Mayans truly got it well. They got an easy world ending event, you are not able to prevent it, only enjoy the spectacle.

Why do we say "we're only human" when we make mistakes? Other animals like dogs, cats, etc. can also make mistakes just like us.

Maybe we should start saying something like "we live in a world where we make mistakes" instead.

I am definitely no lawyer, in IP space or otherwise, but what is to stop someone from making an LLC or Corporation or whatever, that is then granted exclusive use of their likeness and voice, in perpetuity, etc. etc. and and if AI companies want to use their likeness or voice, they would have to license it?

I learn to program back in the days of 486, MS-DOS using QBASIC and it's help menu. Nothing else.

Over the next 30+ years I code in almost every (major) languages. Love some (C, LUA, Python), hate some (JavaScript, Java/C#).

Now I found the inner peace with Assembly (x86). I just like to write those instructions, shuffle values in memory and get a working software of it.

Is this the last stage of programmers life?
