Only by opening an investigation by the Commission will the way be opened for German courts to order the shutdown of X in Europe if these crimes continue.
I am calling for this, along with 50 other MPs, in a letter to Ursula von der Leyen.
Also: a European initiative on X is urgently needed.
Only then will many users switch.
The alternatives Eurosky and Mastodon are a good start, but more support from the European Commission is needed here.
