The age when threading a needle and sewing black on black is a total PITA has caught up with me π
Spent the afternoon catch stitching a blind hem and discovered the back hem is shorter than the front by 1/4". I don't know if this is because I added a side vent, or maybe it's because I made another FBA to the front and it somehow pushed the hemline down despite truing the hem... I hate when random shit like this disrupts an otherwise simple project. I'll be thinking about that 1/4" every time I wear it. π
I spent a good twenty minutes faffing about with my sewing machine and this nasty polyester sheer fabric. I couldn't get the tension right and the lines were really wobbly. Turns out it was the walking foot. The very tool for slippery fabrics was feeding the fabric into the machine unevenly because it was too aggressive. I switched to a teflon foot and presto, back to sewing. FML.
Reminding myself that during Craftmas Season (first day of Autumn - Little Christmas)fabric, beads, and other craft supply stores are all getting slammed and that I should not act a fool while waiting for my fabric. Especially if I'm ordering online, I should use the sense my parents instilled in me. I know better...
I still want my fabric. I restarted a challenge for that fabric.ππ€£

The dress I drafted in May, cut the fabric for in July, and actually started sewing on Monday, could be done in six dedicated hours, if I went upstairs and ironed some interfacing for my pockets.
I'm gonna change my showerhead. I haven't had a decent shower in ages. I think it's time.

I'm looking at sewing needles online as if I don't have two full handmade sewing kits full of needles, on standby. Or like I don't have a favorite needle that I use for all hand sewing because it fits my hand the best.
Sure I could use the other needles, but that's my favorite needle. That's why it's not even in a sewing kit, but in the special pincushion with the emery sand.
Anyway, I'm about to buy more needles for no reason.

I should have called this the "Oh fuck what now... Okay, alright" vest πβ I swear I'll never use a commercial pattern again, even as the base for another style made out of scraps, it has been giving me so much trouble!
I've fixed most of the fit issues but the top-stitching of the back neck made it too tight, so I added this little notch thing, to mirror the front. Shall be seen if I'll have the spoons to put one on the back hem to match.
