Dem Party Picks CIA Agent For Trump SOTU Response

"Rooted in his personal experience and perspectives, this #play explores memory, identity, and ritual through #spokenword, #dance, and #music, using the metaphor of the #seder to question how we remember, tell, and live with our history.

Seder confronts inherited stories as #Jewish tradition meets contemporary artistic expression. Thought-provoking, tender, sometimes angry and poignant, it wraps personal feeling into wider global narratives and contemporary social contexts.

At the heart of Seder is the ritual of the #Passover meal. In #Jewishtradition, the seder is an act of collective memory – the retelling of the #Exodus story; in #Kammerling’s work, it becomes a space to examine fractured histories and the weight of inherited trauma."

Liberation Seder: Hundreds of Jewish Protesters Demand Release of Foreign Students Abducted by <span class="caps">ICE</span>

Hundreds of members of Jewish Voice for Peace in New York protested outside of the office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Monday on the third night of the major Jewish holiday Passover. They gathered in support of a growing number of immigrant activists who have been taken prisoner by ICE, including New York residents Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi, both Palestinian participants of pro-Palestine protests at Columbia University last year. Democracy Now! spoke to some of the Passover Seder attendees. “I’ve always thought of Passover as a celebration of liberation. And liberation can never be just the Jews,” said protester Marianne Pita. “The only way to fight for liberation is to fight for everybody.”

Seder!

One of our London members is organising a potluck seder on Tuesday. Short on notice but long on community!

If you haven’t been before to anything we’ve run, this would be a fun first event.

Bring a small vegan dish to share, and find fellowship and Matzo with queer and leftist Jews.

We do not have the ability to reheat food (there is a tea kettle however). Please note that we will use grape juice only at this event.

Late arrival is ok. We ask that everyone follow our code of conduct.

If you have not been before, please book.

(All of our events are listed in our Calendar, which you can sync to your phone or device.)

Values and Code of Conduct – draft – Jewish Autonomous Queers

Last night for the first time in many years I went to someone else's #Passover #Seder (necessitated by staying behind when my wife and son went to visit Daughter # 2).
I was extremely anxious about talk at the Seder potentially degenerating into Zionist propaganda about #Gaza, but fortunately my fears were unfounded. In fact, one of the hosts argued that given what #Israel is doing, we should skip reciting "Pour Out Thy Wrath".

From the lot essay: “Painted in 1949, Passover Seder describes a subject close to Castel's heart throughout his career, traditional Jewish life and customs.” More in ALT.

This year, #Seder meal but no Seder. Light candles, maybe say kiddush. Chicken soup with kneidlach, turkey, charoset, matzah. 🫓

This year we are slaves; next year may we be free — free from tyranny, from oppression, from fear, from hatred.

Cotton Balls on the Seder Plate

By Nechama Liss-Levinson This year, as I celebrate Passover, I will put some cotton balls on the seder plate. Hopefully, as with so much of the seder, our guests will ask the question “why?” Each year, when I host a seder, I hope to make the story of our people’s slavery come alive to our […]
