No Work, No School, No Shopping, No Oil! · Mobilize

Welcoming residents of the hills and all Oaklanders, join us as together we celebrate May Day through action and community. Mayday is our true labor day, beginning 150 year ago in America as workers fought industrialists of the gilded age for reasonable working conditions and reasonable wages. Let's remember that together and claim it as our own. We are all the legacy of hundreds of years of workers, struggling together for a fair deal. We will gather in Montclair park to greet each other and make new connections. Then we will have a short march to Chevron, to show our disgust for the worst of the worst and to support each other in choosing a future beyond climate-destroying fuels. Together with actions across the country we are flexing our collective muscle: No Work No School No Shopping No Oil! **Our Demands for May 1st** - Tax the billionaires and their corporations so our families, not their fortunes, come first. - No ICE. No war. No private army serving unchecked federal power. - Expand democracy, not corporate power. Hands off our vote. *Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

This a local Indivisible event! Every good protest movement needs music. Music lifts us up and has always sustained us in troubled times. We will gather to weave our voices together in chants and songs; building community along the way. Our songs will encourage and inspire us, and everyone around us, as we embark on this consequential march toward the midterms in November, and beyond. All voices, all ages, are welcome. There is no charge to participate. We are all on this journey together. We meet every other Thursday evening, from 6:30 to 8 pm. *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*

When billionaires and corporate interests rig the rules for themselves, it will take more than business as usual to stop them. Every gain working people have ever won came from collective action — and May 1 is our moment to stand together again. Our May 1 Priorities Make billionaires pay their fair share so our families, schools, and communities come first — not their profits. Protect and strengthen Medicaid, Social Security, and the public programs working people rely on. Fully fund public schools, healthcare, and affordable housing instead of padding billionaire tax breaks. Defend our democracy from corporate capture and ensure elections reflect the will of the people — not the wealthiest few. Stand with immigrants, communities of color, Native communities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ people against policies designed to divide and harm us. On May 1, we will demonstrate our collective power through coordinated action in our communities — rallies, teach-ins, walk-ins, and visible solidarity that makes clear: when working people unite, we can set the direction of this country. Join us as we honor May Day not just with words, but with action and community. Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

## Trump's biggest billionaire lapdog is Jeff Bezos, one of the wealthiest men on Earth. While his astronomical wealth piles up, his workers suffer from preventable injuries and worse: on April 6, Amazon workers were ordered back to work in Troutdale in sight of their coworker who lay dead in a pool of blood on the warehouse floor. https://bit.ly/4dYBkoj ### 🎩 He destroyed The Washington Post, funded the inauguration and ballroom, and invested $40 million in Melania's box office bomb of a vanity project, all in exchange for massive tax breaks for himself and his Epstein Class buddies while life for the rest of us continues to get worse. ### 🎩 He's a union buster who spent $26 million last year to stop his workers from organizing for safe work conditions, fair wages and benefits, and he's investing in surveillance systems and selling services to ICE and CBP while he profits from the labor of underpaid migrant workers working in harsh conditions all over the world. ### 🎩 Bezos is getting richer by the minute off his war on his own workers, business partners, and customers, while he props up the Trump corruption machine. Join us on May Day to make sure Whole Foods and Amazon shoppers know the dirty truth about greedy Jeff Bezos before they spend another penny to fuel his insatiable and destructive greed.
