First we attended a climate protest about #SafeguardOurClimate not polluters outside Labor MP Peter Khalil’s office and handed his staff the IPCC climate report, then we had coffee time with Dad’s friends at Wild Timor Coffee Shop, before cycling to Merri Food Hub in Fawkner to pick up some fresh produce. Then another cafe for Dad to have lunch. That was our day. “

We handed over a copy of the IPCC AR6 Synthesis #ClimateReport to Peter Khalil’s office staff, plus the recent call by 6 Pacific Nations for phaseout of all coal and gas, plus the transcript of UN Secretary General speech launching IPCC report calling for #NoNewCoal, #NoNewGas.

Protest outside Federal Labor MP Peter Khalil to #SafeguardOurClimate not polluters. Proposed #SafeguardMechanism presently being debated in Fedetal Patliament likely to increase global emissions. We need #NoNewCoal #NoNewGas #NoDodgyOffsets. Peter has failed to consult with constituents and local climate groups in one of the strongest electorates calling for ambituous #ClimateAction.

Time to clean up the Dirty Dozen Australian climate polluters and more with the #SafeguardMechanism

Industrial polluters are responsible for 28 percent of 🇦🇺 national emissions and it’s time for them to pull their weight. These companies need to reduce emissions, and not rely on carbon offsets which should be a last resort.
