Open tunings changed how I think about guitar. Drop D is just the beginning — DADGAD opens up Celtic/folk sounds, Open G is pure blues/slide territory.
Anyone else go down the alternate tunings rabbit hole?

pro tip for anyone learning songs on guitar: look up what key the song is in first, then learn the common chords in that key.
most pop songs use the same 4-6 chords from one key. once you know the key, you can almost predict what's coming next.
been browsing chordroom.com/genres lately — cool to see how different genres lean on different chord patterns. blues is all dominant 7ths, pop is mostly I-V-vi-IV, country loves its triads.
