@DaveWhittle I did respond when I saw this. I disagree. I know I'm from the era of the fortunate few who were able to travel overland to India & widen my horizons along the way. I returned to pursue my post-grad studies in #Soc_Anth, like many others. A tradition that continues to this day at #SOAS, the #L.S.E and other places of learning. Plus a side interest in the 'History of Mathematics'. Sometimes even the #Guardian gets it wrong!
