Tonight I enjoyed this passage describing an atheist’s view on miracles in Richard Dawkins’“The God Delusion”: “If there is something that appears to lie beyond the natural world as it is now imperfectly understood, we hope eventually to understand it and embrace it within the natural. As ever when we unweave a rainbow, it will not become less wonderful.”

#CurrentlyReading “Ramana Maharshi: Teachings of Self-Realization” by Robert Wolfe. Page 63 quote: “All things come and go in the Self; therefore all but the Self is not genuine or truly existent. When the truth is clearly perceived, the ‘I-thought’ (the idea of self existence—for anything other than the Essence) falls away.…Anything which can be named is merely an alias for one thing: that Essence.”

Today I read a message from Richard Rohr that inspired me to ponder the roles of prophets, priests, and politicians in shaping our worldviews.

TL;DR: “The only way evil can succeed is to disguise itself as good. And one of the best disguises for evil is religion.” No humans have all the answers to the questions we seek. Let’s lift each other up so we can all reach our full potential as spiritual beings.

Prophets, Priests, and Politicians

On the difference between following blindly and critiquing the system

“When we let things be as they are, we offer ourselves and other people a space around problems that’s free of all pressure to change or to be the same. This way of being is extremely respectful, because we don’t judge where we are or how we should be. We give ourselves permission to be exactly as we are.” ~Peter Fenner, “Radiant Mind” #SBNR #Spirituality #Nonduality #Respect

The quote on the image below appears on page 46 of the book "Ramana Maharshi: Teachings of Self-Realization" by Robert Wolfe. It begins with, "For those who ask, 'What is to be done about the conditions in the world?', Ramana replies: 'First set yourself right, and then only set out to improve "others."'

In other words, only when you let go of your small self and accept the "capital S" Self can you hope to help "others" see that there are no others.
