The #LAPD is aware a 2nd #Australian journalist, the ABC’s #LaurenDay, was affected by police deployment of non-lethal weapons during the protests.
Earlier, on 9 June (LA time), the LAPD said it was investigating the use of #excessiveforce by it’s officers, in an apparent reference to Nine correspondent #LaurenTomasi who was hit by a rubber bullet in the leg.

#LAPD said it is aware members of the media had been likely been hit with crowd-control munitions.
Nine correspondent #LaurenTomasi was hit with a #rubberbullet while covering an immigration protest yesterday. A #British news photographer also said this weekend he believed he was likely hit with a non-lethal round.

🚨🚨 #NationalGuard members or other agents, it’s not clear which, just fired what appeared to be #TearGas at the crowd outside the detention center in downtown #LosAngeles, scattering #protesters who coughed from the smoke. Others helped them wash out their eyes.
At least one protester was hit by a #RubberBullet.
