@randahl reports of over 30 #journalists been shot at during the demonstrations, many times it seems they been at the side lines, no where near the #demonstrations in #LA as in the case of #LaurenTomasi

The #police is acting like the #HKpolice during the 2019 demonstrations, causing the violence to get a reaction from the protesters so they can "justify" even more violence.

The #LAPD is aware a 2nd #Australian journalist, the ABC’s #LaurenDay, was affected by police deployment of non-lethal weapons during the protests.

Earlier, on 9 June (LA time), the LAPD said it was investigating the use of #excessiveforce by it’s officers, in an apparent reference to Nine correspondent #LaurenTomasi who was hit by a rubber bullet in the leg.

There has been a 3rd incident with an ABC camera operator hit with a #rubberbullet in the chest but was not injured #auspol #USPol

#LAPD said it is aware members of the media had been likely been hit with crowd-control munitions.

Nine correspondent #LaurenTomasi was hit with a #rubberbullet while covering an immigration protest yesterday. A #British news photographer also said this weekend he believed he was likely hit with a non-lethal round.

LAPD chief, Jim McDonnell:

“I know that situation you’re referring to, with the member of the media. We saw that, we’re very concerned about it & we’re looking into that.” #auspol
