Some students in northern Ontario are going out fishing at midnight. Here's why

Mexican Hat Rock & San Juan River
Mexican Hat, UT

From an angle not seen by most as you have to climb (on foot or 4x4) up the far side of the adjoining hill; there is also a rough road that leads down to the river, but it so clogged by salt cedar you can't see the water.

The tenements.

(You have to zoom in to see the other structures in this photo. What a nice canyon to live in, eh?)

Delicate Arch, Utah, is the reason people come west.

We associate deserts with heat, but as the ice suggests at bottom right, it was chilly that day, but that only makes the stark beauty of these red rocks all the more impressive. You can practically see "Whispers in the Wind"...

Taken by yours truly at Arches National Park, Utah.

Shafer Trail and White Rim Trail
Canyonlands National Park, UT

The La Sal Mountains in the far background allow me to apply #MountainMonday

Photo is taken from atop the Shafer Switchbacks. The road below is common to both trails with Shafer branching to the left just before the cut of the deeper canyon in the center of the photo.

You may notice the white sandstone along the right top edge of that canyonβ€”this is the "White Rim" from which the trail takes its name.
