OK, about time I posted about last weekend's ride. The geography may be foreign to many, hopefully the pictures help set some of the stage.
Last Sunday's ride was more of an adventure than I'd initially planned. Another trike rider Ralf met up with me at a local pub on his Catrike Expedition and we headed out on Dallas Dr. I'd initially planned to just go to the end-ish of Dallas Dr (maybe 35km return trip), but when we got toward the end of it, Ralf suggested we could head up Highway 97 south to Barnhartvale Rd. and loop back around that way if I was so inclined.
I don't think I've hiked my trike across dense weeds and a ditch before, but with the two of us we made light work of the trikes and went up the highway.
I'm glad we did - the ride along Barnhartvale Rd back toward town/our starting point is really spectacular, an easy ride that's mostly downhill, the road is not very busy and in good shape, and the heat wasn't a bother when you're generating your own breeze.
Notable: We may be "down low", but nobody had a problem seeing us and gave us lots of room on the road, even on the twisting highway.
