Some thoughts on Arthur Machen for #ReadingWales26
Having thoroughly enjoyed reading the collection of Gwen John's "Letters and Notebooks", I hadn't necessarily intended to read anything else for the #ReadingWales event this month. However, a mention somewhere online reminded me that Arthur Machen was Welsh; and as I had picked up a collection of his work recently, following my explorations of the stories of H.P. Lovecraft, it seemed like the perfect time to have a dip.

In #THEM, #JonRonson follows a bunch of extremists and conspiracy theorists around to try to unmask the shadowy cabal that rules the world from a secret room and may or may not be made up of 12-foot extraterrestrial lizards.
It's funny, exhausting and reflective. 22 years on from its publication, though, the world seems more confusing than ever.
