Went to pick up the spectacles, as by PLAN A; all went well, showed the bloke my repaired specs, got two pairs of specs one for long distance and one for reading only. Both feels weird and not quite right, as I was also given two boxes, they'll stay there until further notice.
On the way back, through the alleys, didn't find anything interesting (*) but at a certain point a bloke was trying to take a snapshot of a brick sampler against a brick wall and asked me to hold it up while he took a shot. Weird.
Then through the park where I stopped to feed the crows, had a bag of dry worms in the bag, as soon as I stopped a couple of dozen of them landed nearby, waiting.
And so it went; closer to base spotted four council vans picking up rubbish, apparently the illegal dumpsters were very active last night and there were piles of rubbish dumped in alleys. Wood, plaster board, rubble. Bandits.
Also forgot to take the lighter so didn't smoke for two and a half hours!! and the trip took the same time as two Zappa albums, Apostrophe and Bongo Fury, which was nice.
Back to base, break, off shortly to the plot to do another brush cutting session at the community allotment which has been taken over by the Komissariat (commitee) which is doing an excellent job.

Dim-witted fishing on Sawtell beach leads to entanglement of native bird
A small strip of coastal bush separates the beach from suburbia. Various wildlife still exists there. The Australian brush turkey (Alectura lathami) and wallabies try to survive in this small patch. Roaming dogs are allowed to chase the shorebirds and marsupials. At the main entry to the beach the native vegetation is eliminated to make way for more commerce and exotic weeds.

Guess who is protecting and embezzling tax monies to pay for the world’s top ten rubbish producing, genocidal toxic shit holes?
‘Plastic use has increased significantly in the United States over the previous four decades, with at least 85% of municipal plastic waste disposed of in landfills. The United States produces over 42 million metric tonnes of plastic waste each year, which equates to approximately 130kg of rubbish for every American.’ https://www.greenmatch.co.uk/blog/10-countries-producing-most-plastic-waste

I am always impressed by someone who puts his effort in to support his repairs to others carelessness and neglect.
It makes our regular bin bag a week collection of bottles, plastics and cans on our running routes look very weak. Not that we will stop.
It's rubbish night tonight, and my house is right next to a block of flats. Where my neighbours had put their bins, there was a congregation of half a dozen crows, cawing and flitting about. I couldn't see what they were after, because the bins I could see were the tall green-rubbish bins, and the only one which was partly open due to being over-full was full of branches, which would hardly be attractive to crows.
So I walked slowly up to them, and of course they all flew away, but I saw what they were after. Tucked behind the tall green-rubbish bins, where I had been unable to see it, was one of the shorter red-rubbish bins, and *it* was over-full too. And right at the very top of it, with a faint smell of meat (faint to a human nose, that is) was a full, squishy bag of wet pet food. I mean, the bag was also inside a plastic rubbish bag, but the plastic rubbish bag already had several rents torn in it. The pet food bag was much tougher, there were no holes in it... yet.
Seriously, what was that person *thinking*? They aren't even supposed to be putting food into the red bins any more, let alone stuffing the bin so full that the lid won't close properly, with pet food at the very *top*.
Rank stupidity.
I hope the crows get ALL the meat.
