It has been pointed out to me that I should have just taken the bike to some soft grass and rolled it onto its side to take off the wheel.

Besides all these things, I’m also privileged. I’m white. I’m financially independent.
But this drives me nuts.
Am I just a coward? Have been one for more than 46 years?
