i ran a simple test of 142 fonts on https://programmingfonts.com -- which ones of these

  • have any cyrillic support at all
  • use easily distinguishable glyphs for 3 and З
  • the end result is 17.

consider that most monospaced fonts designed for programming specifically aim to make it easier to distinguish characters that are similar-looking in other fonts, like iI1l or 0O.

Terminal typography refresh time! Out: ultra-thinness, baked-in high line-height, and (sadly) the most beautiful italics ever. In: pair alternatives to look "less monospace", a much more restrained set of ligatures, and combining actually different typefaces. #programmingfonts

    A few #ProgrammingFonts that I like:

    #PragmataPro:
https://fsd.it/shop/fonts/pragmatapro/ — elongated x-height makes it extremely readable. Good when you open 20 terminals side-by-side.

    #OperatorMono:
https://www.typography.com/blog/introducing-operator — Overpriced but extremely pleasant to work with

    #MonoLisa:
https://www.monolisa.dev — Very readable with wider spacing, disinct glyphs and characters. Overall I love it.

☝️ Those are all paid fonts.

    For great and free fonts
    https://www.programmingfonts.org is a good resource.
