#introduction

Hi Mastodon,

I'm a PhD candidate in #philosophy at the #UniversityOfHelsinki , focusing on #metaphysics, #ontology, #processphilosophy and philosophy of #biology. I also study #theology , in which I'm most interested in philosophy of religion, #processtheology , the relationship between science and religion, and the role of #religion in matters of conflict and #peace.

I'm looking forward to share things & have conversations about #research in my fields, but also about
- #books (I read #nonfiction #scifi and #specfic the most)
- #antimilitarism , #nuclearban , #nucleardisarmament
- #pedagogy (since I occasionally work in #education )
- #games: #videogames, #boardgames & #tcg
- #movies
- #birds

Let me know if you are tooting (:D) about any of these things!

Just finished listening to Ilia Delio’s Re-Enchanting the Earth: Why AI Needs Religion using #Paper2Audio. She frames AI as part of evolution’s “techne” and argues religion (as tethering to the whole) has to evolve too. I’m intrigued, though some claims feel like a stretch, especially around “God participating” in creation. Still, the posthuman relational angle stuck with me.

This Sunday, let’s lean into the sacred call to shed old skins and embrace the radiance of becoming. Together, we are threads in the tapestry God is weaving—a future where love’s light transfigures all shadows. 🌄

“The world’s time is not an empty series of years, centuries, and millennia, but a time full of meaning because it is God’s time for the revelation of His will and work.” ~ Karth Barth via Church Dogmatics v4.3

“God works within the world as it is, luring it toward what it can become. Even in the midst of chaos, God’s call to creativity and transformation persists.” ~ Marjorie Hewitt Suchocki

I was this days old when I learned that slaves did not even have the entire Bible given to them. Truly the god they did not even believe in, a god of process, came thru for us. 🤯 #processtheology They didn't even believe in their own god.

Wrongfully Dividing the Word of Truth: The History and Impact of the Negro Slave Bible - Part 1 — Jude 3 Project

The repercussions of twisting Scripture like this is felt every time a minority believes the narrative that the Bible condones chattel slavery (the oppression of Black people, etc.) These narratives create stumbling blocks for our faith, and we must use these moments as evangelistic and equipping op

@[email protected] Not actually a fan of #ProcessTheology, but is there a clear definition of it somewhere that I can rely on?

I have wiki-ed it, but that was not a lot of use in trying to understand it.

I did meet it a long time ago, and was not impressed, but cannot remember why.
