This is what #park #privitization looks like. I never watched parks and rec but all i have to say is when it comes to urban areas, our parks people work hard—they remove trees, maintain facilities, they landscape they clean lakes…they’re not sitting around—they’re out in the sun with long sleeves doing back breaking work—#fullerton #buenapark
Update on the #privitization of #publicparks parents are now parking on the street in the bike lane right in front of no parking signs. This is how privatization “saves money”—not providing basic services like unlocking the gate for the leagues who pay fees.

Now the picnic side charges $3 without permit/placard.

The private side doesn’t open the bathrooms. If the event is big enough they charge for portable toilets. (If not careful OC may get a rep for being “ghetto.”)
#privitization is also another war on people with unstable housing. Lots of people live in their cars and use park facilities. Bathrooms and drinking fountains get “decommissioned”…small businesses should not be responsible for what taxes used to cover.

Chaos and confusion at #CDC after mass firings

Here's the problem with the whole Trump regime:

The scope of the cuts remains a mystery to the HHS employees & secretary Kennedy Jr, who said as much as 20% of the cuts may be mistakes, & moved to reinstate some staff fired in error. Kennedy said that “was always the plan”.

NO PLAN! Just destroy the government.

‘No guidance and no leadership’: chaos and confusion at CDC after mass firings

On 1 April, thousands of workers at HHS and agencies like the CDC were let go, leaving those left to piece together the cuts and mourn the research that can’t go forward

The Guardian
"The American College of Radiology, whose members are responsible for interpreting the results of full-body MRI, says there is “no documented evidence that total-body screening is cost-efficient or effective in prolonging life,” and warns that such scans could lead to the identification of non-specific findings that will “not ultimately improve patients’ health.”"

I paid $1,500 for an MRI and got an appointment in days. But such scans aren’t always good for patients — or our health care system

The Star covered the cost of a private MRI scan to get a better understanding of whether the growing number of for-profit health-care services in Ontario is good for patients.

Koch-funded veterans group that backed closing Chillicothe VA working to elect Bernie Moreno • Ohio Capital Journal

A Koch-funded veterans group backed a plan that would've closed the Chillicothe VA, but U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown was part of a bipartisan group of Senators that scrapped the effort. Now, that veterans group is working to elect Brown's opponent Republican Bernie Moreno to the U.S. Senate.

A recent back-and-forth in a lawsuit against Ohio’s voucher system spotlights the main arguments: who benefits from the private school voucher program, whether it takes away from public school funding and if school re-segregation is a factor.
