On today's adventure with a port a cath, its flushing but not giving blood return....sigh. I called my doctor, they're thinking I have a sheath forming, so now they're calling the MD and pharmacy to see what they think we should do. Chances are it will be an injection in my port to try to clear whats forming if that is the problem.

I am currently sitting and waiting for my appointment to attempt to access my #PortACath by myself with nurse guidance, of course. Last time, she said I have the sterile process down like nothing. Just when I tried to put my needle in, I missed my target because my port is so small sigh. Hopefully, I have a better idea this week and can get it in by myself. Everything else with it has been easily learned, deaccessing and giving myself fluids at home. Either way, steps in the right direction to helping me manage my health better with my #POTS

Welp, had a productive day! Got some laundry done and taken care of, deaccessed my #PortACath , showered, and did a buttload of dishes. Checked my O2. It was decently low, so breathing treatment it was while I watched some anime! Managed to eat some pretzels and hummus today and now to figure out supper! I may have basically no appetite now a days but when I can eat, least it's food that makes me happy and is #Vegan
I wanna be able to start cooking more; now that I've managed to get fluids daily my #POTS is a little more under control so yay!

Update about my appointment. Apparently I'm learning how to run fluids and maintain my port today, next week I'll learn to deaccess and the week after that I'll learn how to access it. Sigh....more Uber trips for me in the future. Also I've learned I'll be left accessed for the entire week soooo need to figure out how im gonna bathe. Anyone have any advice? But hey, at least it's a start. Hopefully the Uber ride home after this is um....quiet. the ride here i listened to a Trump supporter complain and whine about his ex and how she a 25 year old is ruining his 56 year old life...they've been together since she was 19...and they have three kids...WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS TELL ME THEIR STUFF?!

Got my stuff ready to go for my appointment today. I am taking an Uber health ride to get there, which is a first for me, and hopefully, by the end of this appointment, I will be able to access and deaccess my port at home by myself. I'll also be learning how to give myself my fluids at home so I don't have to go to an infusion center every day. Here's hoping all goes well! Wish me luck! Uber will be here in like 40 minutes; man, am i nervous. Not about stabbing myself, but about getting into an Uber by myself for the first time ever.

Welp, I just got my newly placed on Tuesday #PortACath accessed for the first time today! Gotta say, getting the tagaderm taken off was the worst of it! Turns out I'm allergic to it, joy rolls eyes. The poke with the needle was nothing after that, and I have great blood return, and my IV fluids went great as well. Thankfully I'll be able to get fluids three times a week now that I have my port and don't have to rely on my arms. So hooray! A little tender now but the nurse says I'm healing great. #PortLife

Welp, I just found out I apparently got a staph infection in my nose? So now prep for my surgery for my port will be starting five days beforehand! Picking up the stuff I need to pur I my nose twice a day for five days, YUCK! And I'll be picking up even more of the special presurgical soap so I can wash with that twice a day for five days and then also the morning of my surgery. For now, though, getting some iv fluids because thankfully they were able to find a usable vein on me. It'll be so nice to have my port so I won't have to worry about this anymore, just you know worry about sepsis.
