You can get a decent little point and shoot film camera even today for under $100 and most of these cameras cost well over that.

Home developing isn't that expensive, and I think most people could do it. Compaired to some other hobbies it's even relatively cheap.

Hell even if you send your photos out to a lab for development and scanning it's still a relatively cheap hobby.

Just get a film camera. If you really want the look, feel, and experience of film, you can just have film.
