So the meeting happened, and right at the start the council person announced that because we were all so up for not being pesticided our area won’t be included in the glyphosate zone.

Because this goes against the current stated council policy, which is to zap all streets, ppl were sceptical….but hopeful of a better council policy which allows opt-outs.

Guy from #PAN #PesticideActionNetwork was great - and #CarolineLucas MP on point as ever.

NGOs challenge glyphosate re-approval in EU court

Approval "contravenes #EU pesticide laws, which prioritise health and biodiversity protection over economic interests" – PAN Europe
While the #EU is poised to formally re-approve the controversial #herbicide in the coming days, #PesticideActionNetwork (PAN) Europe and four member organisations are set to challenge the re-approval of #glyphosate in EU Court. These organisations are experts in pesticide evaluation and regulation.

Criminal complaint against Bayer for concealing glyphosate risks

IN A submission made to the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office, member organisations of the #European #PesticideActionNetwork (PAN) revealed that the consortium led by #Bayer – like #Monsanto before it – failed to submit unfavourable data on #carcinogenic & #neurotoxic effects of #glyphosate in the application for #EU re-approval of glyphosate.
