🧵 1/5 School sent an email today about an incident. My son refused to leave a situation where another peer (a friend) was escalated and hitting themselves. My son was reprimanded and will have consequences tomorrow at school.

At first I thought he’d been triggered and became escalated himself. But why punish him for that? Was it “unsafe?”

One of the best reasons for a hiring an executive coach I have ever heard was, "We don't know how we come across to others." A good coach helps us see ourselves more clearly. Adam Grant talked about the power of perspective taking. To me this is another form, but applied personally.
