I was too cold to look for Crossbill with Dave B so I stayed in the car, in the car park. No sooner had he disappeared around the corner when this male #Sparrowhawk flew in and perched up right beside me. Sometimes you're lucky!!!

There were no Crossbill for Dave B. Sometimes you're unlucky.

Aylesbeare Common was full of birds this morning - not something I can write after every visit! Nice and quiet too. There are worse ways to spend an hour.

I managed just over an hour on the East Devon commons this morning; once the sun had broken through, it was a gorgeous way to spend some time. Green Woodpecker (my first of the year), Siskin and top views of Dartford Warbler.
