Quiet on here, but not in the (virtual) skies. Been enjoying #XPlane 12.2 with improved lighting and clouds - and man, it’s eye candy. Also snagged the #FF757v2 during a recent sale, and toyed around with custom soundpacks from #FTSIM. With X-Plane it always takes a bit to get stuff running the way you want it to - had some issues with #Ortho4XP and missing / corrupt elevation data, discovered some CTD bugs in the FF757 and the FTSIM packs are hit or miss. But when it runs … better than ever.

RYR1906: LOWW 🇦🇹 -> EGPF 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 back in the good ol’ #B738. I’ve been toying around with #Ortho4XP and have to say - I am quite impressed. On the one hand obviously the ground textures look much better, but I feel that also the placement of buildings and roads improved by miles. Only drawback is the insane file sizes. My#XPlane12 install now has over 350GB with just a few tiles in AUT and UK downloaded. #flightsim #macgaming

Watching #Ortho4XP on Windows 10 building scenery for X-Plane 11, running under #qemu-#nvmm on #NetBSD, using remote-viewer on #macOS #Ventura on a late-2011 MacBook Pro (using OpenCore Legacy Patcher) via #spice over #ssh-tunnel via mobile hotspot, because our holiday-home WiFi blocks all but a few common ports.

My poor old server building X-Plane #Orthophoto-Scenery in a Windows virtual machine using #Ortho4XP. Alternately fetching and converting photos and elevation data. I only managed to get 4 CPU cores to work with Windows 10, although the host machine has 12 (24 threads).
