I used the last few days to switch to Mapterhorn, a faster and more high-resolution elevation data API than what I used before. It improves the graphics, but it also makes my computer struggle, so I still have to do some optimisations.

Big update for #MobiFlight v11, and it looks great! MobiFlight allows flight simmers to build custom Arduino-based button boxes and switch panels, then connect them to #MSFS and other #FlightSim-ulators to activate control surfaces and switches in sim. Supports anything from a simple warning LED to full "sim-pit" cockpit builds.

Vero Beach Regional KVRB → Grand Bahama International MYGF

A few miles east of Florida lie the Bahamas. Since I’m already in the area, I thought a quick detour there would definitely be worth it. And it was.

Think I'm about done now (I think...!) It's a bit more FS2002 in apperance than FS98, but it's good enough to act as a generic visual engine for the rest of the simulation components to be built upon.

Daytona Beach International KDAB → Vero Beach Regional KVRB

About halfway along is Cape Canaveral. I’ve flown around the area a bit by hand. I’ve really underestimated the size of the place.

As on the previous legs, the weather was again unsettled and windy, but I’m getting used to it.

Und eventuell saß ich am selben Tag auch noch im Cockpitnachbau eines Airbus A380 und durfte diesen fliegen. Hier war die Erfahrung aus dem Flugsimulator definitiv von Vorteil.

Es war eine kleine Runde von Frankfurt 07C über den Taunus, Rheinknie Bingen und zurück nach Frankfurt 07C.

Der Start war einfach, die Landung rau, aber noch ok (Ryanair-Style).

Ausnahmsweise komplett ohne Autopilot per Hand geflogen.
