I was just told that an Ontario Works worker asked a client if they identified as LGBTQ+.

I did a bunch of searching and as far as I can tell, they are legally not allowed to ask that?

Am I wrong?

PLEASE boost this as much as possible.

"Within OW, an individual receives $343 to cover their basic needs and $390 to cover shelter, with some increases to these amounts for couples and households with dependants."

The maximum annual allowance a #disabled person on #ODSP is expected to live on in #Ontario. Someone on #OntarioWorks gets half this. It’s not a social safety net, it’s a shackle and chain.
With fast rising #inflation, it is becoming increasingly #unaffordable for low #income earners to afford living in #Toronto, especially for those on #ODSP & #OntarioWorks #OW.

Unfortunately, with the fast pace inflation, #foodbanks have seen a surge of patrons, with some of them skipping meals to keep themselves afloat.

Ffs. I may have to go back to work soon for the first time in 3 years since apparrently I don't qualify for #ODSP. I guess, to them, not being able to leave your house isn't a #disability. They asked that I send them more medical history. I don't have any since I CAN'T LEAVE THE HOUSE because of #agoraphobia.

The most confusing part about all of this is that my partner is on ODSP, so since I live with him I am on his file... and after I sent in all my paperwork to start my own file, they suddenly said I need to go on #OntarioWorks, look for work, or have my doctor sign a letter for them saying I cannot work right now or they'd remove me from his file and he'd get paid as a single person. So my doctor sent them a letter saying I can't work and his decision for that is to be reviewed in April. They accepted that letter. So now I can stay on his file without having to be working or on Ontario Works.

So in one way they know I can't work and agree and in another way, they're telling me I'm not #disabled enough to qualify for ODSP myself.
