This afternoon I had to take the Ozaukee County Express bus up to Grafton. On the way I had a couple interesting conversations with people about transit and the bus in general, just thing to get them to think about why things are the way they are with car infrastructure. Transport for NSW has released Draft Road Network Performance Review Plans (RNPRPs) for the WestConnex M8 and M4 East to councils for feedback.
These reports are as car centric as you can get - anything that gets in the way of traffic volume or intersection “level of service” is not considered. Speeding up cars on Parramatta Rd is celebrated.
The only paragraph I see mentioning pedestrians is “A pedestrian crossing is provided on the western approach of parramatta road” - that is, pedestrians are prevented from crossing at all other sides of the Parramatta Rd/Potts Rd intersection!
