Andrew Tiedgenso I have a rotary phone that I bought off of eBay. However, it has a very strange connector. At first I thought it was some strange coax variation. It's threaded, bigger on the bottom if you're holding it so the end is up. I sent ChatGPT a picture of it and it said it was a 505A bell connector, used up till the late 70s. Do y'all know where I can find a suitable adapter for such a thing that converts it into RJ11? For the life of me, I cannot seem to find one. I searched round 4-prong to RJ11 as well as 505A to RJ11 adapter, as it also listed that as one of it's names as well.

dlweedoartI keep telling myself that some day I'll go back to working on the linux project for this, I know the hardware isn't really useful anymore but god I miss this era of HTC and that project in general.
I bought literally every model of HTC phone I could get my hands on back then and it was sort of my real proper gateway into the open source and device hacking scene.
They really left a mark on me and I stuck it out with HTC all the way to the Android one devices.
This Tytn II/kaiser, my One m8 with the launch camera failure, and my One sv with a busted screen are the only HTC devices I have left sadly
The Dash and Desire both unfortunately met their death to work related accidents over a decade ago, and the rest got lost god knows where during all the moves.
I spent so many hours helping develop projects across Windows ce/mobile, Linux, and Android for all of them.
Heck even just porting something from one device to another because someone wanted it was something that made me satisfied in a way I can't explain.
J. Steven York RESISTSFound my old LG slide phone, and just found an SD card in it. Checking it, am reminded what TERRIBLE pictures it too, so little of interest. But I found this one picture from when we shared a flight from Portland to LA with Star Trek's Jeri Ryan. Had respected her space the whole flight, but tried to get a pic at baggage in LA. That's her with her baby at the end of the carousel. Yeah, it could also Bigfoot for all you can tell. (More in alt-text)
