Susijungus Sony Ericsson pristatomas pirmasis bendras touchscreen telefonas. Taip pat tai buvo pirmasis išmanus telefonas su 12 MP kamera, kai Apple ir Samsung tuo metu dar 4-6 metus naudodavo žemesnės rezoliucijos kameras.

3,5 colio TFT ekranas, 128 MB vidinės atminties (plėčiama microSDHC iki 16 GB), 12,1 MP pagrindinė kamera su Xenon ir LED blykste, VGA priekinė kamera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, Symbian S60 5th Edition, 1000 mAh Li-Po baterija (iki 11 val. pokalbių, 360 val. budėjimo), dydis 112 x 55 x 13 mm, svoris 126 g.

Satio buvo pirmasis telefonas su 12,1 MP kamera ir Xenon blykste, kuriame taip pat veikė veido atpažinimas ir geotagging'as – tuo metu tai buvo revoliucija. Pradinis kodinis pavadinimas kilo iš japonų "kokoro" (širdis), simbolizuojant emocinį ryšį su vartotojais.
