I one hundred percent agree with Andy Weir regarding current slate of Star Trek - liked Strange New Worlds okay, Lower Decks is fine everything else is hard shit. He does not have to apologize to no one and also fuck Kurtzman for making Star Trek miserable knobfest for goobers.
32 years ago, Kurt Cobain died (4/5/1994). 37 years from now, First Contact will occur between Humans and Vulcans (First Contact Day, 4/5/2063). Therefore, I still submit that Dr. Zefram Cochrane scheduled his historic warp drive flight to occur on the 69th anniversary of Cobain's death.
Anyway, I first wrote about a Cochrane-Cobain connection 13 years ago. At that time, Cobain had been gone for 19 years, and first contact was 50 years away.

Happy First Contact Day! Nothing else is being celebrated today. Nothing.
'We have been lurking in cloaked ships out by Jupiter for approximately seventy five earth years, watching.'
That long huh?
'Yes. We felt that you would... should be able to figure your problems out and come together as a species. Then we would make oursleves known and give you #fusion, #hoverboards and #FTL travel.'
Ah, like the #PrimeDirective from #StarTrek.
'Yes.'
So what changed, why now?

It's podcasting day for us. We're completing our rewatch of the theatrical films while we wait for the next new Trek this summer.
Join us today to examine the first JJ Abrams Star Trek movie. It will drop around suppertime US time, midnight UTC.

A podcast about new Star Trek episodes in all series from a media prof and a philosophy prof, both real college faculty members. We look beyond the "Easter eggs," considering storylines, character development, themes, morals, ethics, and lessons to be learned from each new episode.
