@eludom I don't like telling people what to do, but I can say I still use #OfflineIMAP! #Debian packages the git releases from https://github.com/OfflineIMAP/offlineimap3 which are more recent than what you're looking at.
I handed over maintainership some years back when I considered it "done". I wish we'd more often consider software "done". The new maintainers did some good things; it eventually had to be ported to Python 3, for instance.
Fundamentally, I trust it to not lose mail, which is most important.

Schade dass anscheinend #OfflineImap3 nicht mehr weiterentwickelt wird. Und seit der Umstellung auf Version /8/0/0
funktioniert es bei mir auch nicht mehr. Das war 2022. Wie sieht es mit #ImapSync aus? Keine Erfahrung dazu..
My reason for using offlineimap is because it supports IMAP IDLE, but its IDLE support has been broken for years, so I use it with IDLE disabled.
My #commandline and #tui everyday productivity workflow is getting more solid: #taskwarrior, #jrnl, #offlineimap, #notmuch, #neomutt. I was using some of these tools one or two decades ago until I was tempted or forced onto GUI and cloud solutions by various projects. But now I can access my terminals from anywhere thanks to my #tailscale #vpn – no need for other people's clouds.
One of these days I'll write a proper blog post or series about this setup.
